SportScheck RUN Erfurt 2018
SportScheck RUN in the spotlight through Erfurt’s historic center
On September 1, nearly 2,000 participants met at the Petersberg in Erfurt to compete in the SportScheck RUN. Of course, we were also on site and were allowed to implement the event in cooperation with Olympic champion Nils Schumann, who supports the run series in Erfurt with his agency. In the flair of the spectacularly illuminated historic center, the runners were cheered on along the course. There is good reason why the RUN in Erfurt is one of the most beautiful night runs of the season. In the Cheering Zone, fans could cheer on their running stars – and there were free snacks and drinks to shorten the wait time. The many activities on the event area and on the course offered the participants a unique experience again this year, and the event space with start and finish area was decked out in genuine festival character.
In preparation for the event SportScheck provided the runners with helpful tips and expert knowledge through professional coaching. The participants were optimally prepared for their RUN via the social media channels, as well as a training program for the RUN 4 weeks before the start signal. On the Petersberg the program then continued and Under Armour invited all participants to a collective warm-up. On the course, pacemakers ran for the different times that spurred the participants on to peak performance. For the children there was the DAK Kids RUN, a 2.3 course to master. All adults could register for 5 km or 10 km. The supreme discipline was the half-marathon at 21.1 km, in which the challenging final ascent to the Petersberg had to be overcome 4 times.
An special red carpet was rolled out for the finishers at the finish line, where they were awarded their medal, “photographed in front of the “Medal Wall”, and where they were able to recover their strength with refreshments. Radiant faces, satisfied partners, and a happy customer allow us to draw a positive conclusion to an all-round successful night run!
